19.00: Inaugural act for the exhibition of works presented for the 20th Cava Country Painting Competition in the Sala de l'lndex and the Chapel of the old hospital.

19.30: Procession around the town with Comediants' show "Cava stars", with the participation of Barcelona's Municipal Mounted Police Force, traditional antique cars carrying the Cava Queen and her Maids of Honour, the Sant Sadurní Giants and the Penya Riverenya d'Ascó marching band, children from the schools in Sant Sadurní bearing grapes and the Lira Ampostina band.

20.30: The procession will arrive at the town square, where the Consell Capitular of the Cava Guild will receive the Queen and her Maids of Honour. The Master of Ceremonies will welcome everyone and will then make way for the Mayor, Mr. Joan Amat. The Comediants will give their speech and perform "Cava Stars" (A magical vision of the history of cava)". At the high point of the show, Miss Helen Lindes, the current Queen, will crown Miss Mar Saura Cava Queen for 2001. Finally the chairman of the Sant Sadurní Cava Guild, Mr. Joan Juvé Santacana, will declare the 20th Cava Week open. In l'Era d'en Guineu everyone is invited to eat "coca" (traditional Catalan cake) and drink cava whilst the Lira Ampostina band perform.

The procession, the show, the speech ceremony and the coronation can be viewed on a giant TV screen in l'Era d'en Guineu.

22.00: A dinner will be held in honour of the Cava Queen, Miss Mar Saura, and her Maids of Honour, accompanied by the dignitaries in the Sant Sadurní Cava Guild in Torre Ramona. During the dinner Mr. Joan Font, director of Comediants will be invested as a Guild member with Merit, and the prizes for the Painting Competition will be awarded.

24.00: The Cava Youth Night, in the Ateneu pavilion, will begin with performances by the bands La Tribu de Santi Arisa and l'Orquestra Cimarrón. Free cava and "coca" for everyone.

20.00: Beginning of events organised for the 4th regional rally of giants from the Penedès and Garraf areas, in the town square.

21.00: Autumn Investiture of Young Guild members, in the Casa del Cava, in which a new Honourable Young Guild member, new Guild members with Merit and new Young Guild Members will be invested.

20.00: The official poster of the 20th Cava Week by the artist Philip Stanton will be presented at the Exhibition of Wines and Cavas from Catalonia in Barcelona's Maremagnum.

Following this the band Falcons País del Cava will perform and there will be a free glass of cava for everyone.

9.00: the 16th Special Train to Cava Country will leave Sants station in Barcelona for Sant Sadurní. The Penya Riberenya d'Ascó and Batucada Tubarao del Brasil bands will play for everyone's enjoyment, with a free glass of cava for everyone. The Poble Sec, Angles and Sant Sadurní d'Anoia Geganters and Grallers (traditional flautists), and the Penya Riberenya d'Ascó band will be at the station in Sant Sadurní to greet everyone.

14.30: Cava lunch for all the passengers on the Cava Train in the Ateneu pavilion. Entertainment will be provided by L'orquestra Els Àngels band.

18.00: the train will leave Sant Sadurní station on the return trip to Sants station.
